Als stilistisches Erkennungsmerkmal der Arbeit von Katja Strunz gelten ihre „Faltarbeiten“, die aus Materialien wie Holz, Stahl oder Papier beschaffen sind. Daneben umfasst das Œuvre der Künstlerin jedoch auch unterschiedliche Metalle und Holzobjekte, reliefartige Skulpturen, Foto und Papiercollagen sowie architektonische, raumgreifende Installationen. Dabei untersuchen die häufig ortspezifischen Arbeiten stets die Dimensionen von Form, Raum und Zeit. So auch die eigens für diese Ausstellung geschaffenen Werke: eine die Architektur der modernen Galerie aufgreifende Installation und zwei skulpturale Arbeiten der Künstlerin.
Das Saarlandmuseum greift mit dieser Ausstellung im Rahmen des Jahres der Bildenden Kunst in Saarbrücken das Motto „Kunstraum Saarbrücken“ mit dem Schwerpunkt temporärer Kunstprojekte im öffentlichen Raum auf.


Her folded works made of material, such as wood, steel or paper are the characteristics of Katja Strunz' work. Her oeuvre covers, however, also different metal and wooden objects, relief-like sculptures, photo and paper collages as well as architectural installations. The often site-specific works explore the dimensions of form, space and time. So do the presented works which were specifically created for this exhibition: an installation taking on the architecture of the modern Gallery and two sculptural works.

With this show and against the background of the year of the Visual Arts in Saarbrücken, the Saarlandmuseum takes on the theme "Art space Saarbrücken" with the focus on temporal art objects in public places.
